Pande adalah kelompok masyarakat/keluarga di Bali yang berprofesi sebagai perajin logam. Dengan keahlian yang diwarisi turun temurun, kelompok masyarakat Pande ini menempa logam dan mengubahnya menjadi berbagai bentuk peralatan seperti keris pusaka, pedang, mata tombak, pisau, sabit, golok, berbagai jenis peralatan rumah tangga dari logam serta gamelan. Pande yang membuat senjata tajam biasa disebut Pande Besi, sedang pande yang membuat gamelan biasa disebut Pande Gong.

Seiring perkembangan jaman, pembuatan kerajinan dari logam kini tidak hanya didominasi oleh kelompok masyarakat/keluarga pande tetapi juga telah digeluti oleh kelompok masyarakat lainnya. Demikian pula produknya tidak hanya sebatas pada senjata tajam, gamelan dan peralatan rumah tangga dari logam, tetapi juga telah merambah ke aneka kerajinan.

WHAT IS PANDE ??

Pande is a group of society or family in Bali who has profession as blacksmith. With an expertise inheritage for centuries in their family, this group of society forge metal and transform it into many kinds of equipment such as keris (traditional weapon with mistical power), sword, spear, knife, sickle, blade, other house utensil and gamelan (traditional music instrument). Pande who make weapon called Pande Besi, and pande who make gamelan called Pande Gong.

With the changing of time, nowdays the making of metal equipment not only dominated by the Pande society/family but also by other society. Likewise the product not only weapon, gamelan, or house equipment, but also other handycrafts.
